The New Mexico Department of Wildlife is the state agency responsible for wildlife conservation, wildlife protection, habitat management, information & education in New Mexico.
The primary duties of the New Mexico Department of Fish & Game is:

- Issuing hunting and fishing licenses
- Set hunting & fishing regulations in New Mexico
- Conduct tests for wildlife disease
- Animal Reintroduction
