Unemployment Insurance
Unemployment insurance provides temporary financial assistance for people who have lost their job until they find other employment. South Dakota's reemployment assistance program is financed by employers through payroll taxes; workers do not contribute to this plan.

Name Change
The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Division has been renamed the Reemployment Assistance (RA) Division. This is a result of HB 1035 which passed during the 2019 legislative session.
