Missouri State Flower: Hawthorn
Scientific Name: Crataegus
State Flower Description: The Hawthorn is a shrub that flowers a white cluster of flowers which then produces a berry also known as a "Haw". The word Haw comes from an english word meaning hedge. The Hawthorn is edible and commonly used to make jelly or wine in England.
Where It's Found: The Hawthorn is found throughout the northern hemisphere with it's roots coming from England. In regards to Missouri it is most commonly found in southern Missouri.
