California Department of Consumer Affairs

The California Department of Consumer Affairs educates consumers by giving them the information they need to avoid unscrupulous or unqualified people who promote deceptive or unsafe services.

The California DCA distributes information directly to the public by giving presentations to communities / consumer groups and by distributing consumer materials at community events, and to community, city, county, and state consumer protection leaders who are working to empower consumers. The DCA responsibilities are to support and helps consumers, be a regulator, enforce laws to protect consumers and to resolve disputes between businesses and consumers.
