The Georgia State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) provides health insurance coverage to state employees, public school employees, retirees and their dependents. The Georgia Department of Community Health's Public Employee Health Benefits Division is responsible for day-to-day operations for the State Health Benefit Plan.

There are two primary health plan options available for active Georgia State Health Care members and their dependents.  These plans are the Standard Plan and the Wellness Plans, provided through Cigna and UnitedHealthcare.
