Florida is located on the southeastern most part of the United States and extends like a finger pointing south. Florida is a large plateau that doesn't rise much above sea level. Florida's only neighboring states are Georgia and Alabama. Almost all the southeastern peninsula and the southern tip are covered by the Everglades, the world's largest saw grass swamp, with an area of approximately 5,000 square miles.
